| Introduction |
Everyone needs to get a good night's rest on a regular basis. Without it, you feel tired the next day and not at your peak performance. In addition, ongoing sleeplessness increases the likelihood of automobile accidents and work-related injury (especially if you work in a dangerous occupation).

Sleep requirements vary from person to person, but an average adult needs about 8 hours of sleep each night, and children need even more. About 1 out of every 3 adults does not get the amount of sleep they need. Unfortunately, very few people with sleep difficulties actually talk to their doctors about it. If you have a sleep disturbance, it may represent an underlying medical or psychological problem that can be solved. And, if you get proper help for a sleep disorder, you may be more productive, happier, and healthier.
Take this assessment to see if you have a disturbed sleep pattern. The answers here will help you understand what might cause your sleep problems and offer some suggestions of how to get more rest.
